Frequently asked
questions.
Who are the Lions?
|
|
The largest service club
organisation in the world with more than 1.3 million members in 205
countries. |
What would be expected of me
if I join a Lions club?
|
|
Ideally we would like you to
attend as many of our regular business and social meetings as you can,
|
|
|
After that it is up to you.
The help we will require may vary from a couple of hours, an evening or most
of the day depending upon the event. We recognise that many potential
members are very busy people so all we ask is that you turn up for whatever
time you can reasonably afford to give. |
What are the costs of becoming
a Lion?
|
|
Members of our Club currently
pay subscriptions of £25 for 6 months. This is sufficient to cover all our
Administration Fees, Insurances and a bi-monthly magazine which gives
details of Lions activities within Great Britain and Ireland. |
Why does the Lions Club need
new members?
|
|
It is inevitable that in any
organisation, members move on through work commitments or many other reasons
and they need to be replaced. New ideas and personalities are the life
blood of any forward -thinking organisation and new members bring with them
not only original ideas but fresh thought and outlook on established events.
|
|
|
Additionally, the present
members are convinced that with even one or two more members we could once
again begin to raise money by organising a range of challenging, interesting
and productive events.
|
How old must I be to become a
member of a Lions Club?
|
|
Members of Lions Clubs must
be at least 18 years old. |
How do I find out more about
lions?
|
|
The easiest way is to accept
our invitation to attend some club meetings for perhaps three of four
months. You will see how we operate, get to know us better, have ample
opportunity to ask questions and experience the satisfaction, fellowship and
fun to be derived from such involvement. We won’t expect any payment or
other commitment during this time, other than to cover the cost of any meal
at our Social meetings. Hopefully, having tried the experience you will want
to join us. |

various web sites of Lions Clubs international that will deal with
International,
National
or
District
aspects of the organisation. |
